Bearbrick is a toy manufactured by the Japanese company MediCom Toy (according to Hypebeast, this limited-edition collectible toy company was founded in 1996). The first one was born on May 27, 2001, Bearbrick's design is very simple and cute with the head being a minimalist style bear on the body like a Lego character. Each toy bear will include 9 parts: head, body, hips, 2 hands, 2 hands and 2 legs. Bearbrick's concept and design is based on another development branch of Medicom Toy - the Kubrick - which aims to pay homage to the name considered to be the greatest film director of all time - Mr. Stanley Kubrick.

The first Bearbrick bear was 70mm tall and has been the standard size ever since, set at 100% size. All subsequent sizes are also based on this 100% standard. Usually these toy bears will range in size from 50% to 1000%. However, there are exceptions and these will be in the “OTHER” category.

50%, 35 mm – is the smallest size, usually in keychain form.
70%, 50 mm – first released in 2006, the 70% size was originally a toy to go with other main items. Since then, this size is considered a lucky size for the owner.
100%, 70 mm – is the original and most common size. All Bearbricks are made and of this size.
200%, 145 mm – this is a larger size, fairly new and released only in the “Chogokin” Series. Most toys this size are made of metal and weigh around 400g.
400%, 280 mm – full is the second most popular size after 100%, most collectors buy this size.
1000%, 700 mm – the largest size in the size chart, usually reserved for statue collection and product exhibitions at events.

IV. Release schedule and process:
All versions of Bearbrick when released are listed as “SERIES” and “TYPES”. There will be two releases each year, a “SERIES” in the summer and a “SERIES” in the winter. Each SERIES will be numbered and consists of a total of 4 TYPES. The SERIES are classified as follows:

– Basic — consists of nine different designs with each animal carrying a letter and put together to form the word “BE@RBRICK”.
– Standard — the templates in this group will carry a certain theme (THEME).
– Artist — usually templates designed in collaboration with an artist or graphic artist.
– Secret — are the rarest and most exclusive models, often unannounced and in collaboration with famous names.

In the “Standard” group, there are many “THEMES” topics. Common topics include:

– Jellybean — simple one-color, plastic bear pattern.
– Pattern — pattern with opposing textures.
– Flag — the template with the image and colors of the national flag.
– Horror — a model that represents characters from a horror movie or story.
– SF (Science Fiction) — sci-fi movie character model.
– Cute — model of cute, funny characters.
– Animal — the model for other animals.
– Hero — a new model, introduced from SERIES 21, representing the superhero characters in DC Comics comic books and movies.

All Be@rbricks bear models are released in limited quantities and are rarely re-released. The SERIES listed above when released are all kept in sealed boxes – each box will have a secret sample inside. All these boxes will be contained in a box, each box will contain 24 sealed boxes. All the patterns in the box are random, and it is impossible to know what is inside until the box is opened. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to collect the full set and also create a trend and hunt for the remaining samples of collectors.
